Description
Inspired by his favourite conservationist, Jane Goodall, Frankie uses a balance between grounded and vivid colours, signifying the connection between body and mind. Goodall’s approach to the coexistence of religion and science resonated deeply within Frankie. In this piece, the earth tones represent the body (Genesis 2:7); while the bright, vivid colours represent the neurochemicals firing in his unique mind. Through this piece, Frankie shows us that there can be a place where religion and science can coexist, and that the mind and the body are connected in a constant feedback loop.
This piece is also inspired in part by his sister’s keen interest in Bessel van der Kolk’s work The Body Keeps The Score - explaining the connection between trauma and the body.
